If you want the highest quality, strongest duct tape you need a tape that has been co-extruded.
Duct tape is made two different ways:
Less expensive tape laminated. Three layers, the adhesive, the cloth and the backing. These three components are laminated togther, sort of like a tape sandwich.
Better quality duct tapes actually have these three layers melded gother with heat and pressure. C0-extruded tapes will not come apart when exposed to moisture, sunlight or weather.
