Synthetic Rubber Adhesive

Synthetic rubber adhesives, known in the tape industry as “SRAs”, is what makes gaffers tape perform so differently from similar tapes.

Made from petroleum distillates instead of natural latex rubber adhesive-what you find on duct tape-, synthetic adhesive is designed to remove cleanly and leave no residue.

Syntehtic adhesives can also extend shelf life and improve all weather performance. This adhesive doesn’t melt in high temperatures and remains stable for a much longer period of time.

This adhesive is much more expensive to make than natural rubber adhesive, and that has a big impact on the higher cost of gaffers tape.

If you want to be sure to leave no signs behind when it’s time to remove the tape, make sure that tape has the secret sauce-SRA.
